Cabin - Puppies - Vacation

The cabin has arrived. Woo hoo! It was a fun morning yesterday watching them bring that in. Never saw anything like that before. A few tree branches had to go and we found one tree was a lot closer to the front door than we expected. The branches were In the front door lol. Took down one of them, but left the tree for now. I like it there. When it's time to build out the bedrooms, it will sadly have to go. Bummer.

Because we love a challenge, we've also adpted two 5 month old puppies. They are a Lab/Australian Shepherdix. Daisy Duke. Yeah, yeah. I know :) Duke is the lighter colored one and Definitely the instigator. SO much energy and chomping on everything. Including Daisy. Apparently they were separated once and Daisy became so depressed she wouldn't eat :( so we took them both.

Tomorrow I fly out to North Dakota to see my kids. Very excited about that since Austin just joined the Marines and it could be years before I see him again and I really miss Paige. Unfortunately, I won't be here when the pups arrive. Craig is collecting them tomorrow after I leave. They will have some bonding time while he continues to work on the cabin. By the time I get home, we should have a Real toilet and a Real shower. I will just be beside myself. Of course that's all that will be in those 4 walls. A toilet, a shower and some kind of drape for privacy lol. One thing at a time. And that will be exciting.

Progress. Hugs all!

The Amish are coming! The Amish are coming!

Was on my way out to Mission Lake for some meditation and saw that the Amish store was Finally open! Yippy! So many wonderful things. I didn't buy much since we have our own garden, but there are some things I will get later. A picture below of what I did buy.

I was chatting with another shopper named Stacy. She was there with her ex husband. They've been divorced for 40 years she tells me. Their son lives in Rich Hill. She's been in Kansas, Albuquerque and other places. Bought a place here and the ex lived in Virginia Beach! I told her I just moved here from Va and she offered to take me around to some places and we exchanged numbers.

Things are looking up.

Forced out into nature

It's no secret that our living conditions have been a Tad challenging for me. I guess my irritability was spewing out a bit more today.  I was ordered to go out and visit the lake, or any place, "and be one with nature". Best advice I've had yet. Craig was helping Jerry spread gravel in his driveway and I knew it was time to roll. So I hit Mission Lake just up the road, sat and meditated for a bit. It really was quite helpful. May become my getaway place.

The proof is on the boots - Trenching and gravel day

Don't let him tell you I don't do anything here. The proof is on the boots! OK. OK. Maybe it was only 20 minutes, but I Did try and help fill the trenches as well as connecting and laying pipes. Craig ran the bobcat while his friend spread with a shovel later in the day. We had torrential downpours the night before, of course, but he was determined to get things done. It's been a challenge for him. The trencher wasn't working since the ground is soaked, so he did that by hand. But he got the wire ran and laid in the ground. Even the piping, or whatever you call it :P for the internet cable. Yes, we'll have internet. Sometimes feels like 1 step forward and 2steps back, but we Are moving forward nonetheless.

Electricity on South 9th street has arrived!

I LIKE THIS PICTURE BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF THOSE BIGFOOT SIGHTINGS.

Not believing the day would ever come, it seems we’ve been happily proven wrong. I guess the town council meeting helped last week since it is finally complete! Well, to the property line. Now we lay rock, wait for the cabin and Craig gets to plan for running the electric and sewer. We happened to be over there doing some clearing this morning when the town guys showed up.  And when I say we, I mean Craig J I did start a pile of trash (picture below) and did some consulting work regarding clearing and home placement.  I also fetched lunch for us, so I wasn’t Completely useless. (P.S. Craig read this and said that I did work. Ha! Got him fooled) After sitting in this camper for a couple weeks, with nowhere to really do yoga, stretch or meditate, my body has fallen into its previous state of pain. But one day at a time and I will become more useful again. There will be lots of pictures in this post, but they are all actually from today. The road pics were from my trip out to Nevada. It’s only 20 min down the road and can seem quite long, but the beauty here makes it a great ride! Blasting my music and snapping pictures was a lot of fun. I was driving so most are crooked :) Good news is that I made it there and back just fine for my first time out alone. It really is very hard to get lost around here.  Nevada has the closest Wal-mart which carries my shampoo And they have a Subway! Woo hoo. But once again, the further west I go, Subway’s do not have Old Bay for my tuna sub. Not a big deal though. And this is the first time I’ve seen a freestanding Subway. Kind of weird.

On a personal note, even though the cabin will still be Very tight quarters, I am looking forward to the upgrade from the Tiny camper. I’d like to think I can handle anything, but Man do I miss some modern conveniences like a functioning toilet, a real shower not having to turn it on and off in the middle to conserve and dare I mention internet and my 50” TV? I’ll feel like a QUEEN when we have that back! So when you’re in the middle of your refreshing shower, doing dishes, squatting the pot do think of me lol Or not. On to the day in pictures! Hopefully the next post will be of the cabin, but I doubt I’ll wait that long to check in. Oh. I forgot to mention the dragonfly rescue today. Craig pointed out a drowning dragonfly in a puddle. Using a stick, I got him up to a branch and he flew to the nearest tree to dry out. So Craig rescued the goat next door with it’s head stuck in a fence and I took care of the dragonfly. I will say now that snakes, bobcats and spiders are on their own! I’ll say a prayer, but that’s it. And we saw TWO turtles today! They are soooo damn cute. Peace out.

Hey All, its Craig.  Kym said I needed to add something to this post but she has already said it all so I’ll add this…  There were two peanuts walking down the street, One was a SALTED  ;)

THE SHROOM!

 ELECTRIC ARRIVES.
THE TRASH PILE I COLLECTED. A VERY OLD TV, A TOILET WITH FLOWERS GROWING OUT OF IT AND SOME KIND OF ELECTRICAL UNIT. OLD I BELIEVE.

RUNNING THE LAST OF THE ELECTRIC TO THE PROPERTY. WOO HOO!

 SNAILS, SNAILS EVERYWHERE SNAILS.
A GLOWING LIGHT DESCENDED UPON THE PROPERTY. WHEN CRAIG INVESTIGATED, THE LIGHT FLEW OFF INTO THE SKY AND THESE MARKINGS WERE LEFT WHERE IT WAS HOVERING. SO HE SAYS... I DID FIND HIM EATING SOME MUSHROOMS ON THE PROPERTY WHEN I SHOWED UP AND HEARD THIS STORY. I THINK I NEED TO HAVE THE TALK WITH HIM.
GOOD MUSHROOMS/BAD MUSHROOMS. :) )
ALL CLEARED! WELL DONE CRAIG. OF COURSE THIS IS JUST A TINY PART OF THE THE WHOLE PROPERTY. THE VISION WILL TAKE YEARS.
 DRAGONFLY RESCUE!
